"I'll make your Father take you to the Wild Wood if you don't do what I say" Was a common phrase in the villages and for years the children who grew up hearing that phrase soon had children of their own and in turn would say the same thing but with added content.
Although the parents of Forest Haven might have embellished the truth of the Wild Wood, it is true that is indeed dangerous. The trees the once grew in the Wood were now dead and the bark peeling off gave the Wood a scary ambience. The animals there were no different either. The Vulture and Bear clan were just few of the feral's that hunted merciless, acted savagely and (rumor has it) left the Wood to steal from the Villages. It was indeed a dangerous place. And to the creature that ran around the Wood, it was a nuisance.

The young Owlet had been busy all day taking care of the children and only when she was walking back to her room from tucking them into bed she noticed that the wind grew colder and above the Forest Hale Valley the moon glowed with an ominous red. She shuddered from a sudden chill and hurried into the side hall of Forest Hale Orphanage. Inside her twin brother Quill was stretching his limbs preparing for an obvious flight.
"You aren't going out there, are you" Quess asked, surprised. Flying at night wasn't prohibited-but it certainly wasn't smart, especially with Forest Hale being about a few miles away from the Wild Wood. Quill looked up at his sister and grinned.
"Why not, we're off duty now. We can go about as we please" He reached for his goggles on a nearby stand but Quess managed to snatch them.
